Phil Harris vs. Darren Uyenoyama: Uyenoyama wins by rear naked choke at 3:38 of Round 2.

Bart Palaszewski vs. Diego Nunes: Bart looked tough, had some good submission attempts, and flashes of brilliance, but he was outclassed in the striking department. Nunes clearly punches much harder. Nunes 30-27 (twice) and a 29-28. I had it 30-27

Jacob Volkmann vs. Shane Roller: Volkmann shoots, gets a body lock and has the back. He jumps on the back. Volkmann has the body triangle locked into the kneeling roller and is softening him up with punches from the back. He’s landing a bunch of punches and looking for a spot to lock the choke in. Volkman just got the arm on the chin, it’s not under the neck and Shane Roller taps. Jacob Volkmann by rear naked at 2:38 of the first.

Marcus LeVesseur vs. Carlos Prater: Prater constantly had LeVesseur in trouble with submission attempts, and LeVesseur didn’t really put up much offense, so I had Prater winning just by virtue of the fact that he was the only one who really mounted any sort of offense. The judges had Levesseur by split decision 29-28 (twice) and 28-29.

Mike Pierce vs. Aaron Simpson: Pierce got rocked at the end of the first round and ate a ton of knees from the Thai clinch, along with a few uppercuts. Simpson dumped the injured Pierce on his ass and locked in a rear naked choke, but Pierce got out of it and survived until the end of the round. In the second, Mike Pierce ducked under a right hook and landed a counter right to the face as Simpson was coming in to win by stoppage. Mike Pierce wins the fight by KO 29 seconds into Round 2.

A great comeback from Mike Pierce and great to see a knockout from a guy who is usually a guaranteed decision.

Danny Castillo vs. Michael Johnson: Castillo rocked Johnson in the first and spent the whole round on top, but wasn’t able to finish with hammer fists or an arm triangle. In the second round Michael Johnson landed a short left on Castillo as he is coming in and finished with some hammerfists on the ground. Johnson by KO at 1:06 in the second.

Two great counterpunch comebacks in a row. Johnson probably lost the first round 10-8, if these judges give 10-8 rounds.

That’s it for me. I’m going out to get shitty. I will write up the main card, if I still have my wits about me later.
