UFC on Fox 10 Live: Stipe Miocic vs Gabriel Gonzaga

Round 1: Leg kick from Gonzaga. Leg kick from Stipe. Stipe lands a jab. Big right from Gonzaga. Leg kick from Gonzaga. Jab from Gonzaga. Leg kick from Gonzaga. Big leg kick from Gonzaga. Big right from Gonzaga. Another big right from Gonzaga. Gonzaga catches a kick and punches Stipe in the face.

Gonzaga whiffs with a looping right hand. Jab lands for Stipe. Straight right lands for Gonzaga. Big right lands for Gonzaga. Head kick lands for Gonzaga. Leg kick from Gonzaga. Gonzaga catches the leg and lands a pair of punches. Left hand lands for Stipe. Jab lands for Gonzaga, he shoots and gets the takedown, but Stipe gets up. Leg kick lands for Gonzaga.

Round 2: Leg kick lands for Stipe. Gonzaga shoots, but Stipe sprawls. Gonzaga throws a big head kick, but Stipe blocks it. Leg kick checked by Stipe. Gonzaga lands a right hand. Gonzaga looks tired, not a lot of output from him of late. Stipe isn’t putting on much offense either. Gonzaga throws a head kick. Stipe returns fire with one of his own.

Stipe lands a pair of punches. Gonzaga needs oxygen. He’s just backing up and blocking. Gonzaga shoots, gives up on it. He throws a leg kick. Gonzaga breathing heavily through his mouth.  He shoots, Stipe sprawls. Stipe really isn’t doing much so far. He’s landing every now and again, but not a ton.

Round 3: Leg kick from Gonzaga. Gonzaga lands a right. Gonzaga looks like he’s out of gas again and Stipe is just following him around and punching while he blocks. Gonzaga shoots, Stipe stuffs it. Stipe landing the jab. Gonzaga looks too tired to even keep his hands up after that last shot. This sucks.

Gonzaga thorws a half-hearted high kick. Stipe is landing punches. Leg kick from Gonzaga. Stipe got a trip takedown on Gonzaga who is upkicking from his back. Stipe shoots, then let him stand. As Gonzaga stands, Stipe lands a punch. Stipe is thinking about what he wants to do as Gonzaga catches his breath while lying on his back. Stipe gets down on his knees and is landing hammerfists. Gonzaga is able to get up. Gonzaga lands a pair of rights.

I’ve got it 29-28 for Stipe.

Judges score it 30-27 (twice) and 29-28 for Stipe Miocic. Wow, Gonzaga really faded in that fight.
