UFC on Fox 10 Live: Hugo Viana vs Junior Hernandez

Round 1: Viana lands an overhead right and Junior Hernandez goes down, but Hernandez is able to get up. Viana lands a big left hook. Viana pumping the jab, then looking for the overhand right but he misses. Front kick for Viana misses. Viana keeps looking for that right. Viana lands a right to the body. Viana lands a right, then another. Viana is really just teeing off on Hernandez with no return fire.

Viana lands a left to the body. Viana throws a big right hook, which Hernandez blocks. Viana pumping the jab. Viana lands a left hand. Viana is throwing punches in bunches, flurries full of haymakers. Hernandez’s punches are missing by feet rather than inches, while Viana is landing many of his punches. Inside leg kick by Viana.

10-9 Viana. Hernandez is not pushing the pace.

Round 2: Hernandez eats a right hand to the ear. Right hand to the body by Viana. Viana lands a big left hand. Hernandez seems content to strike with Viana, who is taking him apart on the feet. Inside leg kick by Viana. A pair of punches land for Viana. Hernandez got a counter left in there, but it didn’t seem to bother Viana.

Right lands for Viana. Viana throws two punches and a leg kick. This fight stinks. Flying knee for Hernandez goes nowhere. The fighters exchange, both land. Hernandez is bleeding from the right eye. Crowd is booing. Viana keeps attacking.

Round 3: Viana teeing off, but Hernandez is now returning fire. Hernandez needs a finish. There’s no way he has won a round yet. The fighters exchange. Viana is still landing big hooks. Hernandez knows he needs a knockout, so he’s pressing forward. A pair of punches land for Viana. Hernandez looks like he landed a punch there.

Hernandez is badly bloodied, but coming forward. Viana’s eye has a hematoma over it. Hernandez lands a big right. Viana lands a pair of punches. Viana is going backwards. He’s getting taunted by Hernandez, who is way behind in this fight. Hernandez lands a pair of punches and Viana is still retreating, but there are only thirty seconds left. Hernandez lands a left hand. A pair of punches by Hernandez land, but Viana survives to the bell.

Hernandez 10-9. Too bad he didn’t fight like that in the first two rounds.
