UFC on Fox 10 Live: George Sullivan vs Mike Rhodes

First up is George Sullivan vs. Mike Rhodes. Lives round-by-round scoring after the jump:[[MORE]][[MORE]]

Round 1: Leg kick by Sullivan. Sullivan lands an inside then an outside leg kick. Rhodes goes for a head kick. Leg kick by Rhodes, who slips. Kick to the body by Rhodes. Jab by Rhodes. Sullivan lands another leg kick. Rhodes lands a right and pushes Sullivan against the cage. Rhodes goes for a single, grabs Sulligan around the waist and pulls him down, but Sullivan gets back up.

Sullivan lands a knee to the body from the clinch. Rhodes throws a right over the head of Sullivan. Sullivan is sucking wind. Leg kick by Sullivan. Head kick for Rhodes is evaded by Sullivan. Sullivan is coming forward and trying to win the round. He’s looking for a takedown, but Rhodes stuffs it by grabbing the top of the fence. Sullivan pulls him down again. Rhodes is looking for a kimura from the bottom, but he doesn’t have it and Sullivan is landing a few punches.

10-9 Sullivan.

Round 2: Leg kick by Sullivan lands from the outside. Inside leg kick by Rhodes. Sullivan is coming forward, Rhodes is retreating. Sullivan lands a leg kick. Rhodes misses a punch. Jab by Sullivan. Sullivan lands a nice right hook.  hodes comes in for a jumping knee and Sullivan catches his leg, but Rhodes shakes him off. Sullivan misses a superman punch. He was too close for that shot.

Straight right lands for Rhodes. Rhodes lands a right hook and comes in with a knee. Sullivan lands a pair of right hooks in succession. Body kick by Rhodes. Jab lands for Rhodes. Sullivan whiffs on a pair of punches. Rhodes lands a leg kick and a pair of punches when Sullivan comes in. Front kick misses by Rhodes. Sullivan looks tired. He clinches up with Rhodes, who quickly turns him around with double underhooks.

Rhodes drags Sullivan to the ground for a second, but Sullivan pops up and lands a bunch of short punches while Rhodes holds his midsection. Sullivan pushes Rhodes against the cage and works for a takedown, but the round ends before he can complete it.

Round 3: This fight is terrible so far. The fighters exchange leg kicks. Jab by Rhodes. Lazy body kicks by Rhodes. Sullivan lands a jab, eats a right from Rhodes. Jab by Sullivan. Kick to the body by Sullivan. Rhodes lands a kick. Sullivan throws a kick to the head, but Rhodes blocks it. Rhodes is not putting much mustard behind his shots now.

Sullivan lands a pair of punches. Rhodes is turning up the volume with a few kicks to the body. Sullivan clinches up with Rhodes, but ends up with his back to the cage. Rhodes lets Sullivan go. Big right hook by Sullivan. This fight is terrible and I don’t care who wins.

Sullivan is blinking like he got poked in the eye. A left lands for Rhodes. Rhodes is bleeding from the nose now. Rhodes just threw a completely open hand. Jab lands for Rhodes, but Sullivan lands a hook. Rhodes is trying for the takedown, but Sullivan is defending well. He rabs a single on Rhodes. Both fighters are working for a takedown, then Sullivan lands a knee to the face of Rhodes. Rhodes sort of gets a takedown, but Sullivan pops back up.

I’ve got it 29-28 Sullivan, but wouldn’t mind if I never saw either of these guys fight again.

All three judges score it 29-28 for Sullivan.
