For those of you not paying attention, there was another UFC event in Brazil today. That makes three events in eight days. It was a good event too, but no play-by-play tonight.

Ali Bagitunov kicked off the action by knocking out Marco Vinicius in the third round, despite the fact Vinicius looked two to three weight classes larger.

Rafael Natal beat up Tor Troeng. Troeng showed a strong chin, but lost a clear unanimous decision.

Francisco Trinaldo looked good early with some nice kicks to the body, but Piotr Hallman powered through and finished Trinaldo with a kimura in the second round.

Joseph Benavidez made short work of Jussier Formiga, finishing him with a knee and punches in the first.

Jacare Souza finished Yushin Okami in the first round as well. Okami looked tentative after the first exchange; it looked like he didn’t want to be in the cage with the ridiculously ripped Jacare.

Souza poured on the offense, throwing an immense amount of strikes before finally getting the stoppage midway through the first frame. Okami never really mounted any sort of attack.

Glover Teixeira did not look like a man owed a title shot, even though he beat Ryan Bader in the first round. Bader, who is not a particularly proficient striker, landed a number of punches on Glover.

In the end, Bader looked for the finish against the cage and threw a number of punches, none of which landed cleanly enough to finish Teixeira. Teixera fired back with a pair of punches that dropped Bader to the ground and then finished the job inside the first round.

Glover looked slow and his defense was bad. He’s going to need a few more tune-up fights before they throw him to Jon Jones.
