Word on the street is that Jose Aldo made the UFC put Thales Leites on this card. Looks like Also also got his boy a pretty soft matchup in Tom Watson.

Leites is mainly remembered for being clowned by Anderson Silva. Personally, I can’t believe these two are fighting on a Pay Per View card.  The most fun part of this fight is probably going to be listening to Goldie and Stann try to sugarcoat this piece of poop they’re serving up. Live updates after the jump:[[MORE]]

Round 1: Leites lands the first punch, grabs Watson, and has underhooks.  Leites jumps on his back and drags Watson to the ground. Watson rolls over and Leites has a pretty good body triangle locked in; he’s now going for the choke. Now Leites has Watson’s arm trapped and he’s covering Watson’s mouth, punching the defenseless Watson with hammerfists.

Some really nice punches, Leites getting a lot of force behind them despite the fact that he’s on Watson’s back. Some serious earpunching going on here. Watson’s eye is opened up. Watson is turtled up and Leites is trying to flatten him out with one minute left, but Watson shakes Leites off and comes up striking.

Watson lands a leg kick. Jab by Leites. Watson lands a left hand. Leites lands a right hook. Head kick by Watson. Watson lands a right hand after the horn.

Round 2: Jab by Leites. Leg kick by Watson. Left by Leites. Watson doesn’t have a lot of defense. Leites is landing the jab at will, but Watson walks through it. Watson goes for a clinch, Leites takes him down into side control, and then into the full mount. Watson gets to half guard, but he’s in a bad spot with four minutes left. Leites is hunting for an arm triangle, but Watson gets out of it and gets up.

Leites drags him to the ground and is sitting on his back punching Watson in the head. He rolls Watson over and is looking for the choke. Watson tries to shake him off, but Leites transitions to the armbar. Watson tells Referee Herb Dean he’s fine. Watson gets out of it.

Leites looks like he’s out of gas, but Watson’s not doing so hot either. Left by Leites. Watson pressing forward, waking into the jab. Watson lands a knee. Leites lands that weak jab. Leites lands a nice knee from the clinch. Leites with a knee to the body. Watson lands an uppercut. Leites needs oxygen. He’s out of gas.

Leites lands an uppercut, but Watson’s strikes have more mustard on them. Leites shoves Watson to the ground as the round ends. Leites has a wicked hematoma above his left eye. It looks like he’s about to sprout a horn.

10-9 Leites. His corner tells him to clinch Watson and run out the clock. That’s a good way to ensure you never fight on Pay Per View again.

Round 3: Big left hook from Leites and Watson has a ghastly cut on his eye. Herb Dean looks like he’s going to call the doctor to take a look. Nope, he lets them keep fighting. That eye is really fucked, there’s blood everywhere.

Leites going for the trip as Watson holds onto the fence. Leites takes some shots in the clinch. Watson is not blocking at all. Leites takes Watson down. Leites is bleeding just as badly as Watson. Lots of ear punches from Leites. Leites is looking for an arm triangle. I think he has it.  Watson gives Dean the thumbs up; the two men leave a lake of blood as they stand up at the round’s end.

30-27 on all cards for Leites.
