UFC 155 Live: Michael Johnson vs Myles Jury

Round 1: leg kick from jury, left hand by Johnson.  Leg kick johson, Jury tries to catch it and punch, but no luck landing.  Head kick from Jury.  Crowd boos due to lack of action.  Johnson punches and Jury shoots and gets the takedown and is in halfguard.  Jury is looking to pass and Johnson escapes, but Jury is back on top in half guard and trying to mount again.  Now he’s just sitting up and lighting Johnson up.  Two minutes left and Johnson isn’t really defending that well.  Just getting popped in the face repeatedly from a really bad position.  Herb Dean is scoping out the action, but Johnson still has his wits about him.  Jury is still in half guard and Johnson turns and now Jyr is landing short elbows from the half guard.  He’s grinding Johnson down.  Jury is looking for a kimura with thirty nine seconds left to work.   Gives  up and goes back to landing elbows from side control.  Back to full mount and landing punches, has the back and is looking for a choke, but Johnson is able to survive until the end of the round.  One-sided round for Jury.  Can’t believe Johnson isn’t cut.

Round 2- Booing.  Head kick from Jury.  Johnson with a right.  Slow round 2 so far.  Jury catches a kick and Johnson is on his back again.  Jury postured up and landing a big elbow falling into the guard.  Jury up again, elbow to the face.  Not sure how clean they were landing.  Crowd is booing, but Jury is working, just taking his time between strikes.  He’s going to win the round again.

Round 3- Johnson needs to land something on the feet.  Johnson kicks and Jury grinds Johnson against the cage and gets a trip.  In the half guard against the fence working the ground and pound.  Hard to keep a man down this close to the fence, but Jury is keeping him parallel.  Johnson gets perpendicular, but Jury is in side control.  Jury back in half guard and trying to step through.  Postures up and lands a trio of elbows.  Landing a bunch of punches.  Johnson is betting lit up and is not defending very well.  Just sort of waving a hand in front of his face.  Johnson rolls and Jury is on top in half guard and pummeling Johnson with elbows. I can’t wait to see the total strikes that Jury has landed.  Johnson tries to stand and Jury lands two big right hands.  Johnson threatens with a guillotine as the round ends.

Jury looked like a beast in that fight.

30-27 for Jury all around.  They don’t even interview Jury who calls for Joe Rogan so that he can say a few words after a very impressive win.  That’s some bullshit right there, they cut to commercials immediately.  Another reason why I greatly prefer to watch this shit on pay per view.  You get to see some interviews with the fighters and hear what their corners are saying.  They’re putting these fights on TV for free though so I guess I can’t complain.
