UFC 137 Undercard: Bart Palaszewski vs Tyson Griffin

Bart Palaszewski bears a striking resemblance to Dale from Top Chef, only with more teeth and tattoos. The pink mohawk is a pretty fresh hairstyle. This is his UFC debut at featherweight after previously campaigning in the lightweight division of the WEC.

Tyson Griffin didn’t make weight, so expect him to give up a bit of his purse. Embarrassing for a veteran like Griffin to miss weight. He’s looking a little flabby, with his overly-tan spare tire flopping over the waistband of his shorts. Bart has a notable victory off Anthony Pettis over the WEC.

Round 1-Not much happening so far. First significant exchange of the fight at about 2:30. Griffin goes charging in and takes a shot to the head. Nice left hook from the Pole. Griffin is out on his feet, taking multiple shots to the head. Referee Steve Mazzagati lets Palaszewski get in a few more blows for good measure before stepping in. 

Bart P. said he broke both hands, but he doesn’t care. There is no more satisfying way to break a hand than on a knockout punch. Nice knockout to start the night.
