Tim Coleman vs Kendall Holt

Kendall Holt is managed by former Giants running back Brandon Jacobs and tonight he has Roy Jones Jr. in his corner. Tim “Pitbull” Coleman contemplated retirement after getting stopped by Vernon Paris in August and took this fight seemingly on a lark; he trained himself and apparently didn’t take the process too seriously.[[MORE]]

Round 1-Coleman swinging for the fences and got caught by a nice right counterpunch by Holt. Big left from Coleman misses. Holt comes in jabbing and ties him up. Holt working the body. The fighters tie up. Holt throws a nice double left hook to the body then to the face. Holt is landing some crisp punches.

Coleman missed a lead right and Holt lands a massive left hook to the body that takes Coleman down. Pitbull pops back up for the standing eight count. Holt comes out throwing more bombs, but the fighters tie up as the round ends.

10-8 Holt. Wow. They showed the replay between rounds and you can see how much pain Coleman was in from that body shot.

Round 2-Holt lands another huge left to the body and Coleman charges him. Left hook to the side of the head and Coleman is down again. Holt can really punch.

Big uppercut from Coleman misses. Holt charges in and catches Coleman unaware with a huge left hook. Coleman is hurt bad and backs up, as Holt pounces trying to end the fight. A left to the head is blocked, but a right hook to the body finds its mark.

Coleman is able to tie Holt up and is leaning on the ropes for support. Holt gets separation and lands a trio of blows to knock Coleman down again with a minute left to go. Another big right to the body causes Coleman to wince.

A glancing left to the side of the head and Coleman goes down to one knee. His corner stops it while he takes another standing eight count. It did not look like Coleman wanted to be fighting after that first body shot. Holt looked powerful though.

Coleman didn’t look too broken up about the loss. He may not be an A-level fighter, but his effort tonight wasn’t even professional. He will have to do a lot of convincing before anyone puts him on TV again.
