The Fourth Judge: Why the Trayvon Martin Jurors Are Full of Shit
by The Fourth Judge
A grown man in an SUV saw a teenager walking down the street, decided he was a criminal based on the way he looked, pursued him on foot, got into a fight with him, then shot and killed him. These facts are agreed upon by everyone involved in the Trayvon Martin case. The defense. The prosecution. The jury. The media. These facts constitute an indefensible act that deserves to be punished, and if I were on the jury I would have voted to convict George Zimmerman of manslaughter with the clearest of consciences.
I don’t care about the particulars of anything once I’m told by everyone involved that these facts are true. These facts equal murder. You should not murder. You’re dangerous and you should go to jail so you cannot hurt anybody else if you do murder. You are what jail is good for.
I have a duty as a human being to my fellow human beings to act the way I think a human being should act. I don’t have a duty to uphold racist bullshit laws. Despite what some people would have you believe with their “just sayin” insinuations, the fabric of society would not have been destroyed if the jury had voted guilty. People who defend the jury will claim that the integrity of the justice system was maintained because the jurors “followed the letter of the law.” That’s perverted.
Let’s say there’s a guy going around fucking children and throwing them off bridges. Then let’s say this guy gets caught and you’re on the jury and the defense lawyer tells you “yeah he fucked the kid and threw him off the bridge, but there’s a law that says you’re allowed to fuck children if they’re misbehaving in public. There’s also a law that says you can throw them off bridges if it’s Tuesday. If you agree that the child was misbehaving in public and that it was Tuesday, you have to acquit the baby fucker of fucking the baby then throwing it off a bridge.”
No I don’t. Fuck you. That kid was an angel that day as far as I’m concerned. Oh, there’s video evidence of him throwing a temper tantrum in the middle of C-Town? Forged. The police report states it happened on a Tuesday? I didn’t see that report get written. How do I know it’s accurate FOR SURE.
Who gives a shit what white lie I have to tell myself to weather the INTENSE GUILT I’d feel from disobeying the sacrosanct “letter of the law?” They’re telling me this man fucked a baby and threw him off a bridge. THAT’S WRONG. I’M PUTTING THAT GUY IN JAIL. And I don’t have to defend my decision. Our country may be stripping us of liberties by the hour, but I can’t recall a case of a juror getting thrown in jail for making an unpopular decision. “Sorry, but the evidence clearly shows he’s innocent. You’re going to jail now. We know you didn’t base your decision on the letter of the law.”
That’s dangerous thinking, you say. You’re taking justice into your own hands, you say.
Also, again: Fuck you. You’re dangerous. How evil does the evil have to be that I should no longer feel the need to acquit because technically, somehow, evil was acting within the asinine limits of a batshit law? What must evil do that I’m no longer threatening the very integrity of AMERICA if I “ignore” the “admissible” evidence and decide to convict? Would justice be done, would our system work, would integrity be maintained, if I acquit the baby fucker because we have these laws that allow a guy to fuck a baby and throw it over a bridge? Why is it any different if you kill a teenager because he looks shady? It’s not. That shit is not ok. Stopping a person from walking down the street for no reason and killing them is every bit as not ok as fucking a baby and throwing it off a bridge. If you don’t think so then fuck you.
And fuck that racist jury. And fuck anyone who defends them. Why are you in such a rush to defend these people?
“It’s important that we not blame the jury here.”
Fuck you. Fuck you. Fuck you. Maybe they deserve less blame, in some bullshit, meaningless grander scheme of things. After all, they didn’t literally pull the trigger and end Trayvon Martin’s life. But what’s important here has nothing to do with exonerating that racist jury from blame or not hurting their racist fucking feelings. What’s important here is that we recognize that this is a complete tragedy and travesty on every possible level.
Fuck this jury acting within the limits of these bullshit fucking laws. They had a choice. All of them made the wrong one.
