Takanori Gomi vs. Eiji Mitsuoka
Gomi is a striker, Eiji is a submission fighter. Both fighters dye their hair reddish. Gomi’s striking is really sloppy, but sometimes he lands a big shot. He’s really tough and can take a lot of punishment. Haven’t seen the other guy before.
Round 1- Eiji landed a right there. Eiji hits Gomi with a left. Gomi lands a pair of knees to the body, but Mitsuoka looks a little sharper in the strking as well. Mitsuoka lands another right. Eiji lands a right. Mitsuoka keep s landing that right. Eiji lands an uppercut. Gomi lands a leg kick. Eiji lands two lefts . Gomit throws a body shot and eats a right. Walked right into that. Mitsuoka gets a full mount and looks like he is going to go for a mounted triangle with 24 seconds left. Gomi is still punching from the bottom, but looks like he might go to sleep. Gomi almost tapped, but makes it out of the first.
Round 2- Eiji is active as the round begins. Gomi starts coming foward and is swinging. Bullying Eiji around the ring. Typical Gomi. Eiji gets Gomi against the frence, but Gomi is able to land a bunch of vicious strikes from the clinch. Gomi has turned this into a brawl, which is in his favor. Mitsuoka is fucked up after Gomi lands an uppercut and a knee from the clinch. Mitsuoka tries to shoot the single, but Gomi is just popping him repeatedly while he holds onto it against the fence. Looks like Mitsuoka is bleeding really badly. He is turtled up on the ground and Gomi is landing a bevy of hammerfists. The ref ends it.
Great comeback by the fireball kid. He’s not very technical, but he sure is tough.
