Rony “Jason” Mariano Bezerra comes out with a Jason mask. A lot of people don’t know this, but Friday the 13th didn’t incorporate the hockey mask until the third entry in the franchise. That’s your fun fact of the night. I can’t believe they’re putting The Ultimate Fighter finals on a Pay Per View. More Brazilian fan service I guess. I feel ripped off.

Godofredo “Pepey” De Oliveira has pink hair. Very intimidating. Mike Goldberg keeps mentioning that these guys come from very humble backgrounds. I think that’s probably a euphemism for a hut made of sheet metal. While Brazil is a high-growth economy, its Gini coefficient (a measure of inequality), is pretty damn high. Something like 54 the last time I checked. Live updates after the jump:[[MORE]]

Round 1: Pepey on the offense and pushes Jason against the cage.  Glad these guys have short nicknames.  Easy to type.  Pepey mashes Jason against the fence.  Knee and a hook from Pepe.  Jason lands a knee of his own.  Both guys swinging for the fences.  Pepe backs Jason up against the cage and pulls guard.  Hate it when guys do that.  Ref warns Pepey about blows to the head.  Pepey is going for a kimura, but Jason is defending well.  Pepey lets go of it and is just punching Jason.  This ref has an expansive definition of the back of the head, as it looks like he just warned Jason on a punch to the ear.  Ref stands the fighters up.  Jason with a leg kick.  Huge flying knee from Jason and Pepey pulls guard, and Jason picks him up and slams him.  Pepey is doing more damage from this positions with elbows down on the head.  Very active with the strikes on the ground.

10-9 Pepey for the excellent work on his back.

Round 2: Jason with a bodyshot.  Leg kick by Pepey.  This fight stinks.  Fighters clinch up and Pepey pulls guard and the Brazilians boo.  Finally Jason is able to land elbows from the top.  The crowd loves it.  The ref keeps warning Pepe about shots to the back of the head, but it really is supposed to be a mohawk-shaped region in the back of the head.  Like slightly wider than your spinal column extended upward.  Jason lands a nice left hook.  Jason lands another left hook.  Leg kicks from Pepey.  Inside leg kick by Jason. Pepey with a leg kick.  Right hook by Jason.  Left hoo by Jason.  He’s landing those punches regularly.

Round 3: Big right hook from Jason.  Pepey lands a glancing leg kick.  Big right hook from Jason.  Pepey throws a right head kick that is blocked.  Pepey comes flying in eats a right hook.  Pepey shoots for a single, but Jason punches him a few times and lets go of it.  Not a lot of action for a bit.  Both fighters swing wildly and both miss.  Jason looks like he landed another right and gets five toes to the penis.

Pepey retreating and eats an overhand right.  Pepey goes for the takedown and goes for the knee.  Pepey tries to pull guard again and Jason throws him off.  Now Jason is standing up and kicking Pepey in the butt.  Ref stands them up.  good call there.  As Joe Rogan has pointed out a bunch of times, pulling guard without going for any sort of submission in the process really isn’t smart.  He’s just trying to pull Jason down on top of him.

Pepey lands a front kick to Jason’s balls.  Jason must be wearing the world’s worst cup because he’s seemed to be very hurt from glancing blows.  This might be some MMA flopping right here too.  Ref does not take a point.  Waiting for a third shot to the penis. Pepey landing a jab.  Pepey is not pushing the action.  He does not want to win this fight.  Round ends and the fighters have to be separated.

That was a terrible fight. UFC has made a shit sandwich of a card and I have purchased it.

I score it 29-28 Jason at the least. Could be 30-27 on some cards based on how the first was scored with all that guard-pulling nonsense.

Judges score it 29-28 (thrice) for Bezerra.
