Roger Bowling vs Tarec Saffiedine

Round 1: Roger Bowling comes forward and throws a left hook. Roger with the leg kick. Bowling punches, Tarec Saffiedine kicks. Tarec lands a left. Tarek with a front kick. Bowling with a left hook to the body. Bowling is actively hitting the body. Tarec with a leg kick. Bowling comes forward swinging. Saffiedine lands a knee from the clinch. Bowling lands a body shot. Tarec lands a knee. Bowling shoves him against the cage and tries for a double leg, but Tarec defends. Tarec with a punch-leg kick combination. Head kick by Roger is blocked.

Tarec lands another huge knee from the clinch and Bowling tries for a single, but Tarec defends and shoves Roger against the cage. Bowling coming forward and throwing, but he’s not landing that cleanly. He shoves Tarec against the fence, but Tarec just turns him around again and is working knees to the body. The fighters break. Bowling punches as Tarec kicks.

Round 2: Body shot by Roger. Bowling with a punch, Tarec with a kick. Eye poke by Tarec and it looks like a bad one. The doctor checks Bowling out and he’s good to go.  Both guys are throiwng bombs. Tarec lands a snappy leg kick. Bowling lands a left hook. Bowling lands a right. Front kick by Tarec. Bowling with a leg kick. The fighters exchange. Tarec with a jab. Bowling is throwing wild haymakers. Tarec gets out a nice combination there.

Bowling lands a few shots, but Tarec locks in the Thai clinch and gets a knee off. Tarec has him against the cage and is working the knees. Bowling works for a takedown and gets Tarec’s neck for a second, but then Tarec turns him around. Bowling looked for a trip, but Tarec defends nicely. Not much going on right now. Nice right by Bowling. Uppercut from Tarec. Punch-kick combination by Tarec. Nice right by Tarec. Leg kick by Roger.

Round 3: Kicks are exchanged. Bowling comes in and eats a knee. Another big knee by Tarec. Tarec with a leg kick. Leg kick by Tarec. Bowling with a body shot. Bowling’s face looks pretty fucked. Bowling with the jab and takes another leg kick to his front leg. Kick by Bowling. Bowling looks gassed. Not a lot of action.

Tarec goes for a spinning kick and Bowling grabs him, but can’t do shit with the position again. Roger goes for another takedown and Tarec gets down low and stuffs it, he turns Bowling around against the cage. Tarec lands uppercuts in the clinch. Bowling lands a kick to the body. Tarec is winning all the striking exchanges at this point.

Bowling goes for the takedown, Tarec takes his back and is pummelling him and trying to get in position for a choke. Tarec softening Roger up. Tarec goes for the rear naked choke, but Bowling gives the thumbs up to the ref to show that he is fine as the round ends.

I’ve got Saffiedine 29-28. 

All the judges score it 30-27 for Saffiedine.  First round was close, totally can see how it was unanimous.
