Round 1: Robert Whittaker and Brad Scott start out working to find their range. The fighters clinch and the ref tells them to work cuz they ain’t doing shit. Bodyshot from Scott. Both men throw knees and bodyshots. Scott is working the body a little more effectively, but not a lot of action. Whittaker is able to get away and comes with a glancing hook that lands. Big left by Scott. Leg kick by Scott. A pair of punches from Scott. Whittaker runs forward throwing punches at a retreating Scott, one of them hurts Scott and he goes down. Scott is able to work back up to his feet. Big kick from Whittaker. Knee to the body by Whittaker. Left hands to the face from Scott in the clinch. The fighters break. Whittaker lands a trio of punches. Scott with a kick to the body.

Round 2: Whittaker lands, Scott fires back. Scott lands a clean left hand, but Whittaker clinches and throws a knee. The fighters break. Scott kicks and eats a left. Scott lands a jab. Whittaker lands another pair of punches. Jab from Scott. Whittaker with a kick to the junk. Scott comes in. and eats a left. Head kick by Whittaker is blocked. Head kick by Scott lands. Whittaker kicks over Scott’s head. Scott clinches and works the dirty boxing. Scott gets a trip, a takedown, and has the back of the kneeling Whittaker.
Someone is dripping blood on the mat, but it’s not clear which fighter. I think it’s Whittaker’s nose. Whittaker is turtled and getting punched in the head from the side. Scott gets his back and the body triangle against the cage. He’s punching Whittaker in the back of the head and trying to sink in a choke, right next to his cornermen. Whittaker manages to stand up and the crowd loves it. Scott lands a punch. Scott lands a leg kick. Whittaker lands a hook. cott clinches Whittaker and pushes him against the cage. He goes for the trip, but isn’t able to complete it. Whittaker with a head kick that’s blocked.
10-9 Scott. Fight is tied by my count. We’ll see who wants it more next round.
Round 3: Whittaker eats a jab, but he’s swinging for the fences. Scott with a kick to the body. Did Scott’s ear look that bad before the fight started? Jeez. Whittaker comes in swinging. Right hand counterpunch by Whittaker. Whittaker throws a head kick, but Scott blocks it.
Scott shoots, cuz he thinks he has a better shot rasslin’. Whittaker lands a left. Whittaker lands a right elbow. The fighters exchange punches. Whittaker is landing elbows, but Scott lands a hook counter. I wonder if Whittaker broke his right hand. He’s throwing a lot of elbows.
Big left from Whittaker. Right elbow from Whittaker misses. Left hand by Scott scores. Nothing but elbows from the right side for Whittaker. Big left hook from Whittaker with two minutes left. Whittaker throws another right elbow. Whittaker with a nice combo, punctuated with a head kick. Whittaker lands a left hand. Whittaker throws a right. Right elbow, then an uppercut from Whittaker. Scott has a chin on him.
It looks like one of those elbows hit home. Massive head bleed on Scott. Whittaker lands another flurry. He scores with an uppercut. Whittaker is trying to end this fight. Scott is coming forward now. He knows he needs to win this round. Both guys let it fly.
