President Obama To Honor St. Louis Cardinals Next Tuesday

President Obama will honor the 2011 World Series Champion St. Louis Cardinals at the White House next Tuesday, January 17. From the White House:

“The President will also recognize the efforts by the Cardinals to give back to their community as part of their visit, continuing the tradition begun by President Obama of honoring sports teams for their efforts on and off the field. Before Tuesday’s event at the White House, the Cardinals will visit Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to thank wounded service members for their service.”

Presumably former Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols, who took the money (a lot of money) and ran to Anaheim, will be in attendance. That could make things a bit awkward, especially considering Pujols’ apparent kinship with conservative media host Glenn Beck.
