Mizuto Hirota vs Rani Yahya

These new MetroPCS commercials feature a guy with a thin moustachio in jeans, a waistcoat and necktie. Sort of a fussy ensemble for a guy who didn’t bother to shave, don’t you think? Mizuto Hirota vs Rani Yahya live updates after the jump:[[MORE]]

Round 1: Big right from Rani. Rani shoots the single and gets Hirota down against the cage, but Hirota pops up. Yahya grabs an arm, but Hirota gets out of it as Yahya pulls guard. Hirota is now in Yahya’s guard. Hirota tries to get out of it, but Yahya grabs his leg and pulls him back down on the ground. Yahya is landing a lof of elbows and slaps to the head from the top position.

Elbow from Yahya. Hirota gets up. Yahya pulls him back down. Yahya working the ground and pound. Yahya in the half guard and is looking for an arm. Yahya is trying to get the kimura, but Hirota slips out of it. Yahya hops on his back as the round ends.

Round 2: Hirota gets Yahya up against the cage and starts swinging. Yahya shoots and gets a takedown. Yahya locks in the arm triangle and moves over to the side. Hirota is hanging tough. Yahya readjusts it, but then bails on the choke and is now back in the guard pounding Hirota until the end of the round.

Round 3: Yahya grabs a leg, but Hirota stuffs it. Yahya shoots, and Hirota stuffs it. Yahya shoots again, stuffed once more. Yahya shoots a single and gets the takedown. The fighters scramble and Yahya is stuck in a triangle, now an armbar, now Yahya’s out of it. Nice try bra. Yahya on the back again. Hirota shakes him off and is on top with a minute left. Hirota gets up and runs at Yahya with a flying knee, but misses. Yahya is spent and just circling away, as Hirota goes for broke.

29-28 for Yahya on all cards. He wins the decision.
