Miesha Tate vs Julie Kedzie

Round 1: Tate flies in swinging. Kedzie lands a big kick to the face and Tate is hurt. Kedzie lands a few more punches. Miesha with a leg kick. Kedzie with a kick to the body and a punch. Kedzie working the jab. Tate with a superman punch and eats a big right from Kedzie. Miesha pushes Kedzie against the cage and is working for the takedown. Kedzie turns her around and lands a nice short elbow. Tate shoots and Kedzie stuffs it, gets her back and is landing hammer punches. Kedzie lets Tate stand and continues to tee off on her. Kedzie looks way better in the striking portion of the fight so far.
Tate shoots again and Kedzie stuffs it. Kedzie is working shots to the body, lets Miesha stand up and pops her again. Tate with a huge right hook and shoots, but Kedzie stuffs it. Kedzie pushes Tate agains the cage, but lets her off. Kedzie stuffs another takedown and lands some more body punches. Side kick by Kedzie drops Tate and Kedzie comes in, but Tate goes for the triangle an Kedzie is able to flip her as the round ends.
Round 2: Miesha landed a right. Kedzie lands the jab. Kedzie with another big kick. Kedzie is working Tate against the cage. Working knees and elbows from the clinch. The girls go to the ground, Kedzie falls into a triangle and is landing elbows to the head from the triangle, but Miesha is out. Kedzie goes for an omoplata, but Tate doesn’t seem to be in any danger now. Awkward position here. Tate’s gotten around to Kedzie’s back, has a tight body traingle and is softening up Kedzie with punches from the back position. When Kedzie responds Miesha gets the choke in perfect right under her chin.
Miesha has a full mount and it is hard to see what is going on, but it looks like she lost the choke. Miesha goes for another choke, but Kedzie is back up to her feet. The fighters exchange and Miesha goes for a double leg, but I think she’s probably up a little too high. She goes to a single and works the takedown, but Kedzie is standing up against the cage as the round ends.
Round 3: Leg kick by Kedzie drops Tate. Kedzie lets her stand. Frank Shamrock thinks those leg kicks are money. Leg kick by Kedzie. Leg kick by Kedzie. Face kick by Kedzie. Tate is down and Kedzie is working the ground and pound. Tate’s got an active guard though and is going for a submission. Tate is going for an armbar, but Kedzie is defending by keeping her arms together. Julie rolls and Tate looks like she has the armbar. Kedzie finally taps after about two minutes of that shit.
