Matt Mitrione vs Christian Morecraft
Christian Morecraft is a huge heavyweight but he fucking sucks. Really tall, but doesn’t have much power. He was sort of manhandled by 6’ 11" Stefan Struve, who is probably the weakest guy in the heavyweight division.
Matt Mitrione (above) is also a big heavyweight, but is shorter and stronger. Mitrione is a former football player and NFL washout, so he is a lot more explosive. Don’t expect this one to be close, we’ve got Mitrione by KO in round one.
Ms. Octagon is watching the gays’ celebratory fireworks over the Hudson. Really happy for the gays. Hope that MMA can get legalized soon as well. Updates after the jump:
Round 1-Mitrione finding his range. Morecraft looks like a goofball. Mitrione with a straight left puts Morecraft on his ass and lets him stand up. Morecraft is missing with his punches and looks like he doesn’t know what he is doing.
Mitrione tags Morecraft in the face again. Morecraft thought he got caught in the throat. Mitrione is really lighting up Morecraft with leg kicks and punches. Morecraft manages to fall on Mitrione in the scramble, but Mitrione stands. Mitrione won that round for sure. Maybe 10-8. Should be able to finish it up in the second.
Round 2-Mitrione grinning like an idiot as usual to start the second round. Mitrione getting close Morecraft’s junk with his leg kicks and the ref issues a warning. Morecraft tries to tie up Mitrione, who thorws him off easily. Mitrione with a nice jab to the face. He’s smiling again.
Morecraft goes for the takedown and gets it but he looks way too tired and inexperienced to do anything about it. He’s sitting on Mitrione as the ref begs them to work. Mitrione with fists to the head and stands up against the cage.
These are point-scoring takedowns only because Morecraft doesn’t do anything from the ground at all. Ref stands them up and Morecraft is sucking wind. Mitrione gets in his face and starts attacking again. Morecraft goes to the ground and takes his time getting up.
Mitrione is still teeing off. Two-punch KO combo and a glancing punch to the head. Mitrione turns around and doesn’t even bother to follow him to the ground. He knew the second those punches landed it was over.
Cocky as hell, but Morecraft caught a break there because the ref was nowhere nearby and Mitrione could have easily gotten in a few hammerfists to the face if he had felt like it. Sick knockout for Meathead. His boxing looks great. Get him some real competition.
