Josh Koscheck vs Robbie Lawler

Not sure if I mentioned it yet, but this card sucks balls and I was thinking about not buying it. This fight is sort of an odd matchup, but I’m pretty excited for it. A striker versus grappler. I wonder if Josh Koscheck will try to stand and bang with Robbie Lawler. Probably not a good plan.

Round 1: Koscheck kicks and Robbie punches. Koshceck shoots and gets the takedown. Robbie works to his feet, but Koscheck still has a head and an arm. Josh is bleeding on Lawler. Josh shoots again and Robbie sprawls. Josh pulls him down. Robbie tries to get up and Koscheck is on his back. Robbie is able to work back to his feet, but Koscheck is still on him.

The crowd is booing already. That took less time than I’ve ever seen, but to be fair, the last fight was 15 minutes of bullshit.

Lawler works some knees from the clinch, Koscheck is on his knees with Lawler on top landing punches. Koscheck gets popped a couple of times, and referee Herb Dean waves it off. It looks like we have our first early stoppage of the night, as Koscheck was clearly still with it and is already protesting.

I don’t get it. Grice was completely out on his feet and the ref let the fight keep going, but Koscheck gets popped a few times on the ground and Dean waves the fight off.
