Jorge Masvidal vs Tim Means

Round 1- Always get a chuckle out of Mike Beltran’s Yosemite Sam beard pigtail whiskers.  What a clown.  Kick to the body from Tim Means.  Means landing more punches early on.  Nice left right to the chin.  Masvidal lands a right.  Masvidal kicks the body.  Spinning back elbow from Means looks like it landed.  Masvidal lands a punch, kicks the body.  Fakes a shot and punches.  Masvidal lands a jab.  Masvidal shoots gets a takedown.  Means pops up, but Masvidal still has his back.  Means turns around and they’re separated.  Means shoots and grabs a single, but Masvidal is out.  Nice body punch by Means.  Masvidal lands a pair of punches.

Close round.  I’ll give it to Masvidal 10-9.  Striking was about even, but Masvidal had more pop behind his and he had a takedown as well.

Round 2-  Masvidal grabs a leg.  Down into Means’ guard.  Throwing elbows. Means landing a bunch of elbows from the bottom.  Tall guys seem to have an easier time doing that.  Masvidal stands up and eats a nasty upkick from Means who gets to his feet.  Masvidal comes forward and lands a left hook to the face and another to the body.  Masvidal gets anther takedown and punishes the body while Means fishes for a triangle.  Means gives up his back and is turtled up.  Means stands up and Masvidal pshes him against the fence and takes him down again.  Starts landing a bunch of elbows and punches for two inutes.  Means lands a flurry of elbows from the bottom and opened up Masvidal’s head, but we’re not scoring this one based on blood loss, so the second round goes to Masvidal as well 10-9.

Round 3- Masvidal whiffs on a hook and eats a jab.  Masvidal eats a left and it looks like it got his attention.  Means needds to push it and is actingin like it, landing a bunch of punches.  Masvidal shoots and Means lands a knee while Masvidal has his other knee and that cut is open again.  Masvidal bleeding a ton as he gets the takedown, but Means is landing a ton of elbows when Masvidal has a hold of him and is able to work to his feet.  Standing elbow from Means, but Masvidal gets the double leg takedown.  Means lands a ton of elbows from the bottom, which may be more effective than the strikes Masvidal lands from the top.  It’’s going to be hard for Means to win this fight from his back though.  Looks shitty to the judges.  Means tries for a kimura as the round ends and is able to sweep and is on the top raining down shots on Masvidal as the round ends.

10-9 Masvidal, but maybe could have gone to Means on some cars.
