This should be a brawl. John Makdessi looks like a jacked version of New York Governor David Patterson.

Man, ring announcer Bruce Buffer looks more clownish than usual. Blackwatch-check jacket with a black shirt and a black tie. Abominable.

Round 1-Anthony Njokuani is keeping his range and throwing big kicks, but he’s telegraphing them. Big reach advantage here for Njokuani. Makdessi is controlling the center of the ring though. Njokuani catches Makdessi with a left and picks it up on offense, realizing that Makdessi is dazed. Njokuani lands a nice left kick to the face of Makdessi, who has started dropping his hands. 10-9 Njokuani after the first.

Round 2-Makdessi is still controlling the center and has some offense working. Njokuani is content to throw kicks from outside Makdessi’s range. Njokuani landed a nice left there, but he’s spending the whole fight going backwards. Njokuani catches a leg on a kick, but doesn’t do anything with it. Njokuani lands another nice left.

That’s a tough round to score. Makdessi is pushing the action, but Njokuani landed the cleaner strikes. 10-9 Njokuani.

Round 3-Wow, Njokuani is running . The crowd is booing. Njokuani is landing a few shots here and there, but not much. I think Makdessi can steal this one if he wins this round. Judges generally favor the fighter gong forward (Nick Diaz aside). The judges tonight have already revealed themselves to be incompetent on the Wiesnewski-Clements fight.

Njokuani lands a punch-kick combination. Njokuani snapping the jab. Makdessi showing no sense of urgency.

Njokuani gets that one too, 10-9. He really didn’t do a lot though, so this decision might not go his way. What is that, five fights in a row that went the distance? Did Dana White discontinue the knockout bonuses?

30-27 (thrice) for Njokuani. Correct score from the judges.
