John Lineker vs Jose Maria

Round 1: Lineker catches a kick and lands a right. Jose Maria lands a shot to the junk. Lineker lands a left hook. Lineker lands a big right and Maria goes down, but recovers. Maria shoots, gets stuffed. Lineker is head hunting.

Massive spinning backfist from Maria rocks Lineker. Maria lands an even bigger right hook; Lineker absorbs it, but is clearly dazed. Maria just pushes Lineker’s face a little bit with an open palm and Lineker falls backwards.

Maria tries for a guillotine choke; Lineker is recovered by the time he shakes Maria off. Maria lands another huge left, but Lineker keeps pressing forward. Maria catches a kick and puts Linneker down, but John is back up. Referee Leon tells Maria to stop grabbing the cage. Lineker is hanging on Maria and popping him every now and again.

Maria lands a trio of low blows and Referee Leon Roberts just warns him. This is some Andrew Golota-level nutpunching going on here. They show a replay that shows the last knee in the series, which apparently landed above the belt, but there was another knee and a punch that preceded it.  Leon Roberts doesn’t give a shit. That’s three or four shots to the cup in one round, and he’s not deducting a point. Let ‘em fight.

Lineker grabs a kick and throws a punch. Spinning back kick from Maria. Lineker lands another big punch and might have stolen back the round on some cards, but not on mine.

Round 2: Lineker stalking, really winding up with the right. Lineker lands a kick to the body. Maria shoots and Lineker punches. Maria goes for a leglock, but Lineker gets out of it. Lineker lands a left and Maria goes down. Lineker lands a succession of hammerfists to the head as Leon Roberts puts his considerable mass between the two fighters and waves the fight off.

Linekers’ got an iron chin. He took some serious shots that fight. TKO by Punches for Lineker, at 1:03 of Round 2.
