John Dodson vs Jussier Formiga

This is a flyweight fight. If you read the MMA blogs, they make you feel like a knuckle-dragging idiot if you thought that the last flyweight title fight sucked ass.The truth is that the division is thin as hell. There just aren’t that many fighters out there who are this small.
That being said, John Dodson is a monster and this is a title eliminator fight. I would pick John Dodson as the favorite in a fight against the champ, which he will be getting if he beats Jussier Formiga tonight.
Round 1: Not much has happened in the first two minutes, but Anik is giving some good commentary on Dodson’s feints. Anik is really good and even in a fight where there isn’t shit happening, he can find something worthwhile to say. The crowd is already booing. Formiga sort of tries to shoot, but gives up and the fighters go back to throwing punches while standing too far to land them.
Formiga again with a half-assed shoot that doesn’t turn into anything. Crowd is booing lustily due to the actionless first round. Formiga kicks and it’s blocked. Formiga shoots and it gets stuffed. Crappy fucking round. I don’t know how you could score that for either fighter. They both didn’t do a goddamn thing. I’m scoring that a draw.
Round 2: Dodson pumping the jab from far away. Dodson landed a jab. Dodson misses with a big punch. Crowd is booing lustily. Leg kick from Dodson. Formiga punches and it is blocked. Dodson misses. Formiga misses. Dodson looks like he took a poke in the eye. Crowd is booing. Dodson misses an uppercut. Dodson misses another uppercut. Dodson lands a left. Crowd is booing. Formiga shoots and it is stuffed. Rinse. Repeat.
Dodson lands a left and Formiga is on the ground, but he gets back up. Dodson is loading up the left, he misses with a shot to the body. Dodson whiffs with another left. Dodson lands a left to the body and then a left to the face. Formiga is out as Dodson lands hammer fists to finish it. Dodson does a flip.
Dodson by KO at 4:35 in the second round.
