Jian Villante v. Chad Griggs
Jian Villante has all the making of a future superstar according to the announcers. An NFL washout who was also Jonah Hill’s bodyguard. (The fat kid in Superbad I believe, apparently he needs a bodyguard, which doubles as a major Strikeforce qualification). Griggs has ridiculous muttonchops and beat Bobby Lashley, who is a roided up former professional wrestler in the mold of Brock Lesnar. Let’s call this bumfight number 2.
Round 1- Wild swings on both side. Someone is going to get knocked out quickly here. Villante has Griggs up against the cage. Villante is getting lit up. Villante with a wild kick to the head. Yves Lavigne stopped the fight because Villante lost his mouthpiece. Villante rocked with an uppercut, rocked again, pops up, rocked yet again, punches on the ground, muttonchops covered in blood, Griggs wins.
Another bum fight, but totally entertaining though, as we love these one-round specials.
This program is going to be over in another 15 minutes if they don’t throw some filler in. I think Strikeforce is going to learn their lesson about having terrible heavyweights fight each other and not having any undercard fights to interpose.
