James Te Huna vs Joey Beltran

Round 1: James Te Huna lands a right. Te Huna with a leg kick. Te Huna landing punches. Te Huna lands a right. Te Huna lands another right. Another right. Right uppercut by Te Huna. Joey Beltran is not defending well. Beltran with a body kick. Body kick by Beltran. Te Huna is teeing off with uppercuts. Beltran is not blocking that right at all. Beltran lands a jab. Te Huna lands a left and then a right, but Beltran works a knee from the clinch and pushes Te Huna against the cage. He’s working knees.
Te Huna has landed 45 significant strikes. Most of them punches. Te Huna is able to get separation. Beltran comes forward with a left jab, a left hook and another left hook, Beltran looks out, but he’s hanging on. Te Huna is on top of him with a full mount and is pouring on the punishment, but Beltran is able to stand up. Te Huna lands another dozen punches as the round ends, Beltran smiles at him. Jeez. Te Huna won that won and if it isn’t a 10-8 round, I don’t know what is. New record for most significant strikes landed in a single round, with 71. They haven’t been keeping track for that long though, so take that with a grain of salt, brah.

Round 2: Te Huna is picking Beltran apart on the feet. Beltran throws a high kick and Te Huna blocks. Te Huna keeps teeing off. Beltran lands a leg kick. Beltran lands a jab, but not much pop behind it. Beltran lands a jab to the nose. Te Huna shoots a single and Beltran seemed relieved to get some rest, he went onto his back pretty easily. Maybe Beltran thanks he can work something from the guard, because he wasn’t doing shit on the feet.
Te Huna stops punching for about one second and the ref is like, what the fuck, I want to see more punching, and stands them up way too early. Te Huna doesn’t really care though. He’s killing it on the feet. Te Huna works a combination to the body. Beltran can take a ton of punishment, but his face looks completely re-arranged. Beltran throws a big kick, which misses. Beltran caught Te Huna as the round ended. They cut to a fucking Resident Evil 6 commercial before we could see Te Huna recover. On the replay after commercia,l it looked like Te Huna just walked into a short jab.
Round 3: Beltran is game and comes forward throwing, but he doesn’t have any range. Te Huna lands a big right when Beltran throws a spin kick. Te Huna lands another two rights and then a body punch. Beltran is still coming forward though. Beltran comes forward and eats another punch, but has Te Huna pushed against the fence and unloads a few elbows. Te Huna goes for another takedown, but Beltran gets out of it. Beltran coming forward and throwing. Doing some damage with a pair of punches. Te Huna gets a takedown and is on top, but isn’t doing much.
Beltran is able to stand up and Te Huna uncorks a punch to what looked like the back of the head, but the massive ref was in the way so I couldn’t really see. Te Huna tries for another takedown, but Beltran works to the feet. Beltran looks like he’s running on nothing but brainstem. Te Huna grabs a single and throws Beltran. Te Huna goes for a double, but doesn’t get it. Te Huna looks gassed, Beltran shoots and gets a takedown, but Te Huna is working to the feet. Beltran lands a short elbow from the clinch. Te Huna lands a right. Beltran still coming forward and both fighters throwing wildly as the round ends.
These two almost certainly won fight of the night with that one. It will be interesting to see if there is a 10-8 round given for the first. I’ve scored it 30-26 for Te Huna.

It seems like some judges aren’t aware of 10-8 rounds. The guy landed 71 significant strikes and almost had a knockout. If that’s not a 10-8 round, I don’t know what is.
