Jake Ellenberger vs Robbie Lawler

Jake Ellenberger is coming off a terrible loss to Rory MacDonald where MacDonald basically just jabbed him for three rounds and Ellenberger looked flabbergasted. Jake’s really explosive, but isn’t the most sophisticated fighter on the planet. Uncle Dana yelled at him after his cowardly fight against Rory, so expect him to come out super aggressive.
Robbie Lawler is coming off a razor-thin loss to the champ just two months ago, so the short turnaround could hurt him. Jake came in to the Coolio classic “Gangsta’s Paradise” from the Dangerous Minds soundtrack. My wife apparently knows all the words to this song. Live updates after the jump:[[MORE]]
Round 1: Head kick from Robbie blocked. Again, blocked, but I’m sure Jake felt it. kick to the body from Robbie. Again kick to the head from Robbie. Big left from Robbie. Again a big left from Robbie. Robbie landed a pair of punches. Head kick from Robbie blocked. Jake with a left to the chest. Jake comes in and eats a right hand and Robbie fires off another left head kick that misses. Jake comes in and Robbie clinches and knees to the body. Punch to the chest again from Jake. Not a good place to punch. Hopefully someone in his corner will tell him that. Jake slips. Head kick from Robbie blocked. Right to the body for Lawler. Big right and a left from Lawler. Right lands for Jake. Left lands for Lawler. Body kick from Lawler. Body shot from Jake. Robbie still going with the head with the kick, blocked.
10-9 Lawler. Can’t believe Jake’s not throwing more after his last shitty fight. Robbie looks great so far.
Round 2: Robbie coming forward again. Head kick blocked again. Jake shoots and is thrown off. Jab by Lawler. Right hook by Robbie. Jake shoots and has a body lock, but from Robbie’s back, but isn’t doing shit with it. Right hand lands for Lawler. Nice left by Robbie. Another straight left. Another pair of punches lands for Lawler. Robbie is beating Jake up. Jake’s not really moving his head. Just eating hands. Jake gets a takedown and Robbie is laughing and stands up. Sick knee to the bodyand Ellenberger is turtled up. Robbie is smashing him in the head. Ellenberger stands and Lawler lands a nice legal knee. Jake lands a takedown and Robbie smiles at him. Robbie shakes him off like a child and stands up. Continues to beat Jake’s ass as he looks completely tired and defeated.
10-9 Lawler. Wow. Jake has nothing for him so far. He needs a miracle.
Round 3: Knee to the body from Lawler. Jake is coming forward and throwing haymakers, but Lawler weathers the storm and grabs his head, lands a knee. Right hand looks like it shattered on Robbie’s hard Hawaiian head. Kick to the body from Ellenberger. Jab from Robbie. Left from Robbie. Robbie lands another left. Jab from Robbie. Big knee from Robbie Lawler, Jake turtles up and Robbie finishes it on the ground.
Robbie Lawler by TKO in Round 3. Jake Ellenberger looked tentative and awful, just like he did against MacDonald. Lawler looked spectacular after surviving a five-round war with the champ. He tells Joe Rogan he’s coming for the title.
