Ian McCall vs. Demetrious Johnson Ruled a Majority Draw
I was a bit surprised when McCall Johnson wasn’t ruled a draw, (two judges with 29-28 for Demetrious and one for McCall). My bro actually texted me and was like yo bra, that should have been a draw. Yup, and actually it was.
Johnson looked better in the first two, but there seemed to have been a clear 10-8 round for McCall via a massive top control assbeating in the third, I figured that some judges are really tight with the 10-8 rounds, so it didn’t seem that crazy. Apparently those zany Australians read one card wrong and added up another wrong. There is a skills shortage in Australia due to the booming economy and so all the people on that desolate penal colony with the mathematical ability to add three numbers together properly on a regular basis have been hired as nuclear physicists. Lucky there were a lot of knockouts on the FuelTV portion of the program.
So two of the cards were read incorrectly and should have been 28-28, which is the same as I had scored it. It gets worse though, because this was a semifinal fight for the vacant flyweight belt, the winner was supposed to fight for the championship, and if there was a draw after three, it was supposed to go to a fourth round. So now McCall, who put a devastating beating on Mighty Mouse Johnson at the end of the fight is going to have to have a rematch against a fresh opponent and Joseph Benavidez, who won the other semifinal fight handily and could probably fight tomorrow is going to have to wait a while for a rematch. I guess that gives him more time to prepare and study his potential opponents, so I bet he’s not too upset about it.
