D.C. light heavyweight prospect Jerry “The King’s Son” Odom won his first professional fight at the Patriot Center on October 27th, pummeling Darryl Fields until the ref was forced to stop the fight at 1:12 of the opening round.
Fields came out aggressively, bum-rushing Odom and attempting to break him with early pressure. But Jerry kept his cool and fired his left hook, landing enough solid blows to create some space between him and his foe. A hard right hand backed Fields up, and Odom was landing power shots at will soon after. Odom was patiently teeing off with both both hands when the referee decided to jump in and end the obvious mismatch. Fields was smiling and bleeding from the nose at the time of the stoppage.
