Knockout Publicity e-mails this morning to let us know unbeaten junior middleweight prospect Denis “Da Momma’s Boy” Douglin will step up in competition to face Matt Berkshire next Friday, December 17.

Since winning the 2008 National Golden Gloves Middleweight Championship and turning pro Douglin has reeled off eleven straight wins, seven by knockout. The Morganville, New Jersey native admitted to knowing little about his opponent but promised his preparation would be on point.

“I honestly don’t know very much about Berkshire,” Douglin said. ”But I expect a tough fight from everybody, especially an experienced guy like this. I am training like it’s a world title fight.”

Berkshire, who fights out of Morgantown, W. Va., holds a respectable professional record of 11-2-2 with 5 knockouts. His last two fights have been against Vance Garvey in his hometown; a draw in May and a win in August.

Berkshire’s first loss came in a May 2007 rematch with Jesse Nicklow after a draw two months prior. His second loss came this March in Detroit where he was knocked out by Dominik Britsch

Fans interested in attending the bout at the Doubletree Hotel in Monroeville, Penn. should call 1-800-745-300 for tickets. Douglin promised to put on a good show for those that do.

“I am going to get in there, let my hands go, hit and not get hit and get him out of there because I don’t like decisions,” Douglin said. “This is going to be a great fight and the fans are in for a real treat.”
