These are flyweights, 125 pounds. The last time Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson fought Ian “Uncle Creepy” McCall, I scored it a draw. The last fight was announced as a split decision for Johnson, but later changed to a majority draw after it was revealed that they read a card incorrectly.

I thought that was the last time that would happen in MMA, but ironically, on this very card, in the Mike Pierce vs. Carlos Eduardo Rocha almost certainly had an incorrect card, resulting in a majority decision for Rocha after a fight which Pierce dominated. It hasn’t come out yet, but they should be announcing that correction soon, unless the judge had a head full of acid. So here’s the redo for a chance to fight for the flyweight championship against Joseph Benavidez. These little guys are so fast. Live updates after the jump:[[MORE]]

Round 1: Leg kicks.  McCall ducks under a punch and Johnson pushes McCall against the cage.  Johnson drops down to the double leg and gets McCall down, but McCall sits up and gets right back up to his feet.  McCall looks way bigger than Jones.  Fighters exchange.  Johnson looked like he landed a punch there.  Johnson tags McCall with a right and puts him on his ass.  Demetrious on top now, but McCall has his wits about him again.  Johnson has McCall’s back, but McCall spins around.  McCall has his back against the cage and Demetrious drags him down, but McCall pops up and lands a knee.

McCall is cut on the bridge of his nose.  McCall shoves Johnson against the cage.  Johnson landed again right there.  Looked like a short right.  McCall comes in again and Johnson shoots.  McCall ends up on his back, but pops up and peppers Johnson’s body as he stands up.  Nice transition.  McCall’s face is starting to get cut.  Johnson has been winning it on the feet.  Johnson kicks as McCall swarms, but misses.

Round 2: Don’t ever buy an HP laptop. This thing is practically burning through my lap.  McCall swarms, gets the double leg and takes Demetrious down, but Johnson pops right back up.  McCall coming forward and landed a nice uppercut.  Leg kicks for everyone.  McCall is really pushing the action, but Johnson is able to push him against the cage.

Johnson has a Microsoft Xbox360 sponsorship. Pretty legit considering many of these dudes have Acai snake oil adverts on their gear. Surprised EA Sports doesn’t advertise considering they bought the license to make the game. McCall catches Johnson in the junksky super hard. Right on the @Xbox logo. Totally accidental, but damn that’s gotta hurt. Fighters touch gloves and get back at it.

McCall shoots on a johnson punch and pushes Johnson up against the fence.  McCall is trying to drag Johnson down.  McCall picks up Demetrious and takes him down, but Johnson pops back up.  Johnson swarming with punches against the cage and ties McCall up. McCall throws a nice spinning back elbow, but it looks like his forearm hit instead.  Demetrious swarms and McCall ties him up.  Demetrious lands a right.  Demetrious kicks, but it is blocked.  McCall jumps in, gets a quick throw as the round ends.

10-9 Johnson.  This round was closer than the first, but McCall is getting takedowns and not really doing anything with them, whereas Johnson seems to still be landing the better punches.

Round 3: Demetrious landing a knee there.  McCall pushing Johnson against the cage, throwing knees.  Johnson landing knees.  McCall lands a nice elbow.  Johnson works a takedown.  McCall gets up.  Johnson has a bodylock and mcCall lands a shot as they disengage.  McCall kicks and Johnson lands a punch.  McCall working knees against the cage.  McCall throws jumping knee.  Fighters exchange.  I think McCall got the better of it.  McCall pushes Johnson against the cage and throws knees, but not much working.  clean left from Demetrious.  McCall pursuing Johnson and working him against the cage, but Johnson slips away.  Johnson landed another right.  McCall stalking and trying for the win, but Johnson pushes McCall against the cage and goes for the single leg, but McCall does a backwards somersault and is back on his feet.

30-27 Johnson by my card. Fighters are going to their corners “in case it is a draw."  They need to get a winner for this one because it is a tournament setup.  But Johnson’s corner is telling him he won already.  McCall knows that he lost and looks dejected as they tell him there is a decision and his corner tells him to put his hands up.  Hey they already read one card wrong tonight.  Anything can happen.

Judges score it 29-28 (twice) and 30-27 for Johnson.  Two judges gave McCall the second. That was a close round.
