Dana White Blasts Nevada Athletic Commission, GSP

UFC Boss Dana White tells Ariel Helwani that Nevada is a scary place and boasts the worst athletic commission on the planet. He’s afraid to bring fights to Nevada. A selection of White’s comments from the interview:

“This is the thing that makes people not like fights.”

“Georges St. Pierre knew he lost.”

“These guys are just despicably horrible.”

“This city is scary.”

“It is not the scoring system. Look around the octagon and look at who is judging these fights.”

“It makes me sick.”

“Johny Hendricks wins the fight tonight and walks away without the belt.”[[MORE]]

“GSP will not retire."

"He owes it to the fans, to this company and to Johny Hendricks to come and do the fight again.”

Dana looks like he is going to puke at the press conference. When asked what happened, he answers similar to the interview above. White says that he has no idea how Johny lost the fight after wobbling Georges in the first round. White says he’s a promoter and that Georges is the biggest draw he’s got, so he should be overjoyed that GSP lost, but he still wants a fair decision.

Now White is absolutely blasting the athletic competition. Says he is terrified to have another fight in the state and that they need to fix something before they destroy the sport, like the did boxing. Georges is in the hospital and isn’t coming to the press conference. Johny should be in soon.

Now Dana says Georges needs to either retire or give Johny a rematch. White says he doesn’t know what Georges meant when he said he was taking time off. Dana says he doesn’t have any health problems. White says it’s bullshit to go up there and say he’s just going to take some time off for no reason.

“I should be woo -hoo, alright, these idiots gave it to Georges,” White says.

Dana makes it clear this isn’t Georges’ fault, but St. Pierre’s camp knows they lost. Dana has no idea what to even make of this situation. Hopefully he just gives the belt to Johny.

Dana White can be a complete bastard sometimes, but you have to admire his candor in this situation. His biggest Pay Per View draw got his ass kicked but won the decision and White is willing to go on the record admitting the result it is a load of shit. That is admirable.

Surprise! Georges shows up to the press conference after apparently getting stitches. His face is bad. Now apparently the press conference is experiencing technical difficulties. Sorry folks.
