Dan Hardy vs Amir Sadollah

Love the Anderson Silva highlight reel, which is about 85 percet slow motion Forrest-smashing. An apt promo reel prior to a fight against Stephan Bonnar, which many people expect to go the same way.
This fight is taking place in Nottingham, England, which explains the absurdly early start. The chavs are out in full force tonight. MMA hooligans, gotta love them. This event just set the world record for most knives in a sports arena.
Dan Hardy is the hometown hero here. e’s an immensely popular English fighter, who probably would have been cut if he wasn’t so popular, after four losses in a row before finally knocking out Duane Ludwig. He also got one of the more undeserved title shots when they let him try his luck against Georges St. Pierre. Amir Sadollah won The Ultimate Fighter and has good Muay Thai skills, but generally wins by decision.
Hardy’s been taking some shots at Matt Hughes for his recent hunting trip in Africa. Hardy is an art school punk rocker, and does not believe in hunting, although I don’t believe he’s a vegetarian. Not that badass calling out the oldest welterweight possible, who is retired the last time I checked. Don’t be surprised to see Matt Hughes jumps back in the ring if Hardy wins this one. Round 1- Amir coming forward throwing punches. Amir with a leg kick. Dan Hardy with a leg kick and a left hook that was blocked. Amir with a nice head kick and a push kick. Amir lands a pair of punches. Hardy lands the left. Sadollah just ate a pair and Hardy smiled at him. Sadollah lands a leg kick. amir lands a nice right. Hardy lands a right as well. Amir lands a leg kick. Amir with a nice left. Amir lands a right. Hardy with a left then a right. Amir lands a left. Amir lands another left. Hardy lands a left hook. Amir rushes him and pushes him against the cage with a body lock. Dan turned Hardy around and put him against the cage. Amir landing a knee, but Hardy lands an elbow from the clinch. Amir lands a punch. Hardy lands a knee to the body. Fighters break and Sadollah lands a punch. Hardy swarms and Sadollah fires back. Hardy with knees from the clinch. Amir with a knee. Amir is throwing ear slaps and hard lands a right elbow. Amir landed some punches and Hardy landed a knee. Hardy went for the takedown as the round ended.
10-9 Hardy, who is not as active, but is landing the better punches. MetroPCS must have an excellent social media department because they redid the voiceover on the “Everyone is moving to Metro” UFC ad campaign, with a much more manly-sounding narrator that will appeal to UFC fans. I only had to complain about it like a dozen times.
Round 2- Amir jabbing and throwing leg kicks. Hardy gets poked in the eye, but keeps going. Lands a nice pair of punches and a kick. Hardy is really letting the hands go. Amir lands a left. Hardy coming forward with punches. Hardy throws a leg kick. Hardy whiffs on two big punches. big right from Hardy. Amir lands an elbow. Hardy with a punch kick combination. Hardy hits Sadollah with a left to the mouth. Hardy takes Amir down with a double leg. Looks like he’s been working on his grappling, but Amir is back on his feet. Amir has a bodylocka nd is looking for the takedown. Hardy lands a big left from the clinch and then a right. Amire lands a puncha nd Hardy smiles at him. Hardy throws a right. Hardy throwing big punches now. Hardy shoots again and puts Sadollah down. Really suprising to see this aspect of his game. Amir is looking for a triangle, but Hardy pulls out of it.
Round 3- Hardy landing a leg kick and works for the takedown. Fighters are clinched. Sadollah goes for the takedown, but doesn’t get it and releases. Amir’s face is really bloody. didn’t see the shot that did it. Hardy is shoving him against the fence. Dan Hardy lands a nice uppercut from the clinch. Left hook from Hardy. Hardy lands a right while Amir kicks. Hardy follows it up with another punch and then works a takedown. He should have kept punching. Amir looked dizzy. Amir is looking for a submission, throwing up the legs, but Hardy is punishing him for it with elbows. Hardy with two left elbows. Amir goes for another trinagle and Hardy postures up and landed elbows again. Dan Hardy ground and pound. Looks like he’s really been working hard since his last fight. Amir’s face is broken open bad. Hardy lands another big punch and ends the round in a body lock.
I’ve got Hardy 30-27, but the first round was close.
Judges score it unanimous for Hardy 29-28, 29-28 and 30-27 for Dan Hardy
