Court McGee vs. Costa Phillipou

Court McGee is an ex-smackhead with an amish beard who won the Ultimate Fighter 11.

Round 1- Court landed a big right.  Costa landed a right there.  Costa landed another right and a left.  Court shoots, but doesn’t get anywhere. Court misses with an overhand right.  Costa walked into a jab there.  Court landed a nice leg kick there.  Court lands a kick and Costa lands a punch.  Fighters echange and court lands a left.  Court goes for a takedown and is stuffed.  Court landed a left there.  Costa is just shrugging off his punches thus far.  Court lands a left to the head and Costa is wobbled, but the round ends.

10-9 Costa.  I think he’s landing the cleaner punches.

Round 2- Costa landed a left hook.  Fighters exchange, looks like they both landed glancing blows.  Costa lands a right.  Costa lands a jab.  Court shoots and does not get anywhere.  He was up too high.  Costa lands a right.  Looks like Costa is slightly cut on the right side of his head.  Court with another takedown attempt and Costa lands a big left.  Court ties him up before he falls down and Court pushes him up against the cage and lands some nice shots in the clinch.  Court is bleeding above his left ear.  Court shoots in and eats another uppercut.  Court lands a half-hearted front kick.  Costa lands another uppercut.  Court goes with a spinning back elbow, tries again for the takedown and again does not get anywhere.

Round 3- Court lands an uppercut against the fence.  Low blow and Costa takes a breather.  Court goes for another takedown, grabs a single leg and throws Costa to the ground, but only for a second.  Costa is back on his feet.  Costa ties up and throws Court McGee.  Court landed a flying knee.  Court lands a leg kick, Costa lands a punch.  Court throws a big kick and misses.  Lands a body kick.  McGee throws another spinning elbow.  Misses.  Costa lands a pair of light punches.  Court kicks, which is blocked.  Costa with a nice leg kick.  Court is pushing the action, going for the takedown and it is stuffed again.  He really doesn’t have any good way to get this fight to the ground and is getting outclassed on the feet.  Court throws another spinning elbow and the fighters tie up as the round ends.

The main card starts and the stoppages stop.  Wasn’t a bad fight, but paled in comparison to the fights on the undercard.
