Charles Oliveira vs Eric Wisely

Michael Oliveira is said to be very talented, but he has been winless in his last three fights at lightweight (155 lbs.). So for this bout Oliveira has dropped down to featherweight (145 lbs) for the first time. He’s got good standup skills and very advanced BJJ, but was submitted by the Jim Miller, no slouch on the ground himself.

Round 1-Charles throwing some nice kicks. Eric Wisely kicks and Charles catches the leg, taking him down. Charles is standing up and landing shots on Wisely. Charles dropped in for a heel hook, which is a high-risk move because you generally end up in a bad spot if you don’t hit it.

Wisely gets out, but Charles Oliveira bends Wisely’s leg around his own ankle in a calf crusher/kneebar of some sort. You don’t see that every day folks. Wisely forced to tap. Oliveira by submission at 1:43 of the first.
