Chad Mendes v. Michihiro Omigawa

First free fight on Spike is the little guys.  Already talking about how fast Belfort’s hands are.  If they’re so fast why couldn’t he knock out Tito?

Got our scotch loaded up and ready to watch some fighting, while Ms. Octagon does embroidery.

Round 1-Mendes takes the first round winning on the feet and scoring a takedown, but narrowly escapes an Omigawa armbar. 10-9 Mendes

Round 2- Mendes staggers Omigawa with a straight left, gets in a few more shots on the ground.  Omigawa’s nose is bleeding.  Mendes scores some leg kicks, gets clipped a few times by the cage.  Mendes gets a single, but doesn’t do anything with it, takes some shots to the body.  Mendes gets another takedown and lands a few shots inside the guard. Massive cut opened over Omigawa’s eye.  10-9 Mendes

Round 3-Omigawa needs to end this fight before it goes to the judges.  Throwing wild hooks.  Mendes gets on the top and throws punches from inside Omigawa’s guard.  Omigawa’s eye is really bleeding now.  Omigawa is landing a few shots here, but Mendes scores another takedown.  Heavy shots to end the round.  10-9 Mendes

Judges score it 30-27 Mendes unanimous.
