Brian Stann vs Wanderlei Silva

These guys have a lazy gentlemen’s agreement not to cut weight, so this fight is at 205 lbs. Wanderlei Silva is still popular here. Brian Stann is the favorite, though he’s never beaten anyone good. Round 1: Stann swarms. Both fighters swing wildly and Stann slips. Silva lands some knees from the clinch. Wanderlei drops down for a takedown, but doesn’t do anything with it. Stann presses forward and Wanderlei says bring it. No defense, just non-stop punching.
Stann landed a punch. I think these guys realize that all they have to do is put in a little bit of effort and they’ll get the fight of the night bonus for sure, because all the fights so far have sucked. Wanderlei caught a shot in the testes, and Stann lands a couple of extra shots after Wandy was incapacitated. It looks like he stopped once he realized what happened.
Wandy shakes his cup a little to get the blood flowing again and the fight resumes. Jab by Wanderlei. Leg kick by Stan, Wanderlei lands a punch. Wanderlei lands a jab. Leg kick from Stann. Stann comes forward and Wanderlie looks hurt. Stann goes down; it looks like Wanderlei is hurt when he goes down on his back, but actually that blood is Stann’s. He’s just pouring blood all over Wanderlei Silva. Really hard to tell who landed what in those exchanges.
10-9 Silva. Crowd goes wild. Fight of the night bonus has been secured in Round 1. Longass boring card just went past the scheduled time, so I hope those of you with DVR put some extra time for live TV.
Round 2: Bodyshot by Wandy. Leg kick from Stann. Jab by Wanderlei. Pair of punches from Wanderlei. Jab by Wanderlei and another kick to the junk by Stann. Stann kicks, Wanderlei punches. Stann’s face is a bloody mess. Wandy lands a right and then a left. Right from Stann. Head kick lands for Silva. Leg kick by Stann.
Leg kick by Wanderlei. Wanderlei lands a pair of punches, Stann goes down. Wanderlei puts the nail in the coffin with a few more punches and that’s all she wrote.
Silva by TKO due to strikes.
