Antonio 'Bigfoot' Silva vs Alistair Overeem

These are big boys. Antonio Silva’s big noggin is very hittable and Alistair Overeem hits like a ton of bricks, but anything can happen when the guys are this big.
Overeem comes in to some fruity eurotechno. If Overeem wins this one, he’ll probably get a title shot. Not sure why this isn’t the co-main event instead of the Rashad Evans fight, which has no title implications whatsover. Overeem hasn’t lost since 2007, but has also fought a lot of bums. He is rarely outside of the first round.
Both guys have had positive steroid tests, but Bigfoot had a better explanation for his, due to his hormone imbalance. Overeem just said his doctor mixed it into a shot due to a knee injury, without his knowledge. Overeem is favored by a lot, but anything can happen with these big guys. Round 1- Silva misses with a leg kick. Overeem throws a jab. Overeem pushes Silva against the cage and lands a knee. Overeem lands a jab. Pushes Silva against the cage. Ubereem landing some knees to the body. Silva comes forward and whiffs. Silva tries to push Overeem against the cage, but Overeem turns him around and lands some more knees to the body. Overeem landed a right and then a knee to the body. Silva punches and misses. Overeem rips a leg kick. Silva comes back with one of his own. Overeem pushes Silva against the cage and lands some more knees. Silva whiffs on another punch. Overeem pushes him against the cage.
10-9 Overeem. So far, Silva’s striking has looked terribly slow. Every time he swings, Overeem isn’t there anymore, but it only takes one shot.
Round 2- Leg kick by Silva, jab by Overeem. Kick by Silva, Overeem blocks it. Silva lands a hook and ties Overeem up, but Overeem grabs him and slams him into side control. Elbows from the bottom by Silva, but Overeem postures up and lands a punch. Overeem working bodyshots from the top. Don’t know why Overeem wants to hang out in this guy’s guard, as he was killing him on the feet, but he’s working some effective ground and pound. Overeem gets up and lands another big punch. Reem hits the body and then the head. Overeem is able to get some separation and lands a few big punches from his knees. Overeem gets up and Herb Dean lets them stand. Overeem gets caught in a clinch and eats a knee.
10-9 Overeem. Didn’t think this one was going to go three rounds, but here we are. Overeem is not being aggressive enough. The longer he fucks with this guy, the more he runs the risk of getting caught with a big shot.
Round 3- Overeem pushes Silva against a the cage and lands a knee to the body, but Bigfoot lands an uppercut and is pouring it on. Head kick. Right hand. Pair of uppercuts. A bunch of unanswered punches. Overeem is out and Silva still wants to come at him as Herb Dean pulls him away. Bigfoot would have beaten Overeem to death if Kim Winslow was in the ring.
Silva didn’t look like he belonged in the same ring as Overeem for the first two rounds. All it took was one shot to change that. That is the way the heavyweight division works. Now the heavyweight division is totally fucked and there isn’t really anyone who deserves a clear title shot. I guess Cormier if he beats Mir will get the shot. Anyway, I am glad to see the cheater Overeem lose. I’m sure a lot of these guys are juicing, but Overeem is the Barry Bonds of UFC juicing.
