Anthony Pettis vs. Joe Lauzon
Joe Lauzon is a former computer programmer, so you can bet that he is technical as all hell. Pettis is a Duke Roufus fighter and is known for, among other things, landing an off-the-cage roundhouse “Showtime Kick” in the fifth round to steal the WEC Championship from Benson Henderson who is fighting in the main event tonight. Pettis is spectacular on the feet. Just amazingly precise kicking. Joe Lauzon’s BJJ is slick as hell and he’s coming off a huge win against Melvin Guillard. He lost to Clay Guida and won a split decision against Jeremy Stephens, so his last two fights were pretty terrible.
Round 1- Pettis throwing kicks. A head kick and a leg kick. Joe Lauzon swinging, but not landing. Lauzon looks like he is punching to set up the takedown. Pettis with a huge left head kick. Wow! Lauzon Is Out. Pettis lands a shot on the ground, but the ref gets in pretty quickly to save Lauzon from taking unnecessary punishment. Another highlight reel kick for Anthony Pettis.
