Anthony Perosh vs. Nick Penner
Sorry I’m late. My slave-driving editor is going to have my skin, but I had to work at my job that actually pays a living wage and then walk my teacup yorkshire terrier before she made a tiny poop on the oriental rug. I have the Verizon Every Single Fucking Channel Fios package, and I can’t get these fights in HD. (Full Disclosure: Doctor Octagon owns lots of Verizon stock). I get that it’s the undercard to a free event and everything, but this situation needs to be remedied. I can’t see the finer points of this shit and I have a 52" television.
Round 1- Lot of wild swinging here, Penner looks like he landed a decent left right there. Nick Penner’s eye is cut. Perosh shoots and takes Penner down with a nice trip. Perosh in the guard and Penner reverses out of it and gets to his feet. Nice scissor sweep. Penner lands a right, his face is bleeding really bad now. Can’t wait to get a good look at that cut between rounds. Hope they don’t cut to commercial. Perosh jabs and then pushes Penner against the fence and is trying to work some dirty boxing. Perosh lands a really nice knee as the fighters disengage. Penner swings for the fences and misses as Perosh goes for the single and works the takedown. He’s in half guard and is landing the right elbow nicely. Looking to pass guard, but is leg is trapped, he gets it out and has the full mount with 45 seconds remaining. Teeing off. Fuck. Heavy shots from Perosh, ref should end this shit, but the round is almost over so he gives Penner the benefit of the doubt. Perosh goes for a choke, but he knows he’s not going to get it and goes back to punching and gets the stoppage as the round ends. Perosh by TKO in a barnburner of a first round. Can’t wait to see the number of shots landed there. Wow! That stoppage was so close to the horn that I didn’t even realize the ref was stopping it due to strikes. I take back what I said about the ref giving him the benefit of the doubt.
