10 Random Thoughts from UFC on FuelTV

1. Those fights were almost uniformly terrible. I want those five hours of my life back. This card looked great on paper too. Can’t believe how bad it was.

2. The main event was great. Hunt’s KO and walkaway was classic.

3. Mark Hunt and Stefan Struve both looked awful and neither deserves a title shot, ever.

4. Hector Lombard looks baffled if he doesn’t run over his competition. He was finally having success on the feet against Yushin Okami in the third round, then decided to get in Okami’s guard and do nothing.

5. Diego Sanchez looked awful and I had him losing the fight, but it was pretty close.

6. Brian Stann is a great ambassador for the sport, but is also horribly overrated. I guess I should have told you that before the fight. Sorry.[[MORE]]

7. Mark Hunt, a 38 year-old, 5'11" 260-pound heavyweight is now riding a four-fight win streak. He’s probably going to crack the UFC’s top-10.

8. The UFC’s rankings are a joke and are ignored by the matchmakers.

9. Not sure how Lombard won two rounds on one judge’s card.

10. Gareth Davies is the worst-dressed man in MMA.

I think that’s it for me tonight. I wonder if they’ll acknowledge how awful the card was on the aftershow. They were lucky that they didn’t need to plug in any of the facebook undercard, because those fights weren’t any better.
